The Winners of The First Summer Camp Challenge

The winners of the first Summer Camp challenge are officially announced, and we want to make an overview of the first part of this competition: what participants have created and the assignment they worked on.

First of all, we would like to thank all participants. More than 60 people have applied for the Summer Camp so far, and more than 20 have managed to come up with a solution for the first challenge. More precisely, seven solutions were submitted by teams and individuals. Three of them were awarded 6.000 USDT in total.

During the two weeks, participants worked on the first of six challenges. The goal was to make a soft entry and start with basic dApp with core functionalities. You will find more details at the end of this document, where we shared the exact challenge sent to participants.

Challenge was crafted so that there is no specifically defined scope of the final solution (product) that should be created. Hence it was up to participants to shape it, play, and create a solution that will help them win one of the first three places and rewards.

The Winners

Based on the technical implementation (including the level of decentralization), product fit, user experience, these are the winning teams:

1st place: InvictusApps

2nd place: Easy, We c00l

3rd place: ToTheMoon

Besides these teams, solutions were submitted by Nemanja Grubor, CryptoBROKE.rs (Marko Čuljak, Karlo Valentin Cihlar, Lara Granošam, Bruno Marović), Nikola Dunda, and Brot’s Children (Jheremias Jheremois, Roy Willynson, Gabriel Valero, Jessica Rueda, Zheiler S. Vera).

We want to thank all of them and invite anyone interested in web3 technologies to apply for the upcoming challenges.

Both the ones who were part of the previous challenges and the ones joining the Summer Camp competition later can work equally on each assignment.

3327 crew ensured that challenges go one after another, do not overlap, and are not mutually exclusive, meaning that anyone can apply for each challenge without needing a solution for previous ones. Hence, do not hesitate to and apply now.

We are looking forward to seeing what teams and individuals will create as a solution for the second challenge. The solutions that teams are developing right now.

Support Children is a non-profit, international organization that has been working on improving life for children worldwide for many years.

As a leader in an innovative approach when it comes to gathering resources, Support Children recognized the potential in accepting crypto donations.

Nikola, the director of the innovation sector at the Support Children organization, decided to hire you to develop the first version of this web application.

Considering your collaboration in the past couple of years, Nikola is confident in your ability to define the product’s specifications and functionalities. However, he is there to deliver the necessary guidelines. Specifically, the user needs your solution should fulfill.

The application should enable Nikola and his colleagues to create campaigns and ensure they are notified of each donation. On the other hand, so far, experience has shown that people who make donations would like to be included and informed regarding the campaign’s progress. Considering this, each user should be notified when the campaign they donated has reached its goal.

Like any reliable team that knows their industry and their users well, you recognized the potential in time. Hence, you suggested to Nikola and the Support Children team that a solution such as this one must be decentralized. Only in this way, the rigorous but always just crypto donors will see the purpose of joining and supporting campaigns of this non-profit organization. Also, considering the complexity of decentralizing the notifications system, it’s acceptable that this part is centralized.

In the next two weeks, it is up to you to make the web application to enable the Support Children organization to finance and organize their first campaigns. Please bear in mind that this is just the beginning of a successful collaboration. Soon, you will be meeting Nikola and his colleagues to define in which direction the solution will be further developed.

Of course, as for every upcoming challenge, the decisions you make while shaping this solution should be based on the facts you gather while researching and discussing with a targeted audience and analysis of the solutions which satisfy similar user needs.
